What is AllSportsMarket?

An exchange competition very similar to the real stock markets. Traders buy and sell issues in sports teams with real money. The issues pay cash dividends to the shareholders when the teams win. AllSportsMarket is a real-time, multi-player, interactive competition in which players compete for money.

Is it a sportsbook?

No, you do not make bets or wagers on sports teams.

Is it a gambling?

No, AllSportsMarket is a skill-based Player-vs-Player Game.

Is it a simulation?

No, that's what makes AllSportsMarket unique. Every trade here is executed by a real trader or a market maker. The AllSportsMarket market actually reacts to your moves.

Do I have to be a professional to make money?

No, players of all levels have a chance to make money and enjoy the service. You do not have to play every day, and you don't have to be a pro at sports or trading.

How do I research the stocks?

AllSportsMarket has multiple news sources that you can monitor for breaking news and information. You can also screen stocks using your criteria and discuss tips and ideas with other traders in the live chat and forums.

Why should I play here?

Players have different reasons but here are a few that AllSportsMarket is known for: Sharpen your trading skills
You are new to trading and want to learn
You like to put money on a game, but don't want to lose it all
You want to have some fun
You want to compete

How do I make money?

In exactly the same fashion as the real markets. You buy and sell issues with real money. You keep what you earn.
  1. Buy Low, Sell High.
  2. Hold the winning team after a winning game.
  3. Sell High, Buy Low (short)
How does AllSportsMarket make money?

Our income is derived from the commissions generated from the buying and selling of issues in exactly the same manner as conventional brokers and markets.

How does "bonus money" work?

When your account is credited with bonus money, it can be used to trade right away. You cannot, however, withdraw most bonus funds. They increase your buying power, which allows you to trade bigger blocks of shares, and thus, make more profit. Dividends and trading profits earned from shares bought with bonus money are unrestricted and treated as cash. If you choose to accept a Deposit Bonus, then you cannot withdraw your deposit for 30 days, or else the Deposit Bonus will be subtracted from your account balance.

How do "bonus trades" work?

When your account is credited with bonus trades, they will always be calculated using your active broker at the minimum commission level. This means that if your broker charges $10 for 1,000 shares and $.01 for each additional share, you will receive the first 1,000 shares free. The balance will be charged at $.01. The full commission is deducted from your account balance immediately, and the credit for the bonus trades can take up to 7 days to appear in your account.

How much does this cost?

You can start with as little as $25. By making a deposit into your ASM account, the funds are available for you to trade with, and you can withdraw your funds at any time. You are charged a commission on each trade by your broker, and this can vary between 2.5% - 5% of the total transaction amount. There is an order cancel fee of $0.50 if you wish to cancel an order before the time you specified for it to expire.

How do I get money in & out?

You make deposits into your account using PayPal, NETeller, PrePaidATM, or one of the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or EuroCard. E-check Deposits are also available to U.S. clients. You can withdraw funds via any method you used to deposit, or you may request a company check. Note: Payouts going back to your credit card(s) can only be done within 30 days of the deposit charge.

How much is the broker commission?

Commission fees can vary depending on your broker, but they average at a flat fee of 5% of the transaction amount. Example: Buying 20 shares at $5 each (totalling $100) would have a commission of $5.00. Half of that commission ($2.50) goes directly into the Dividend GAme Pot, and the remaining half is split between ASM and your broker.

Do I have to login everyday?

Absolutely not. You can trade as often or as little as you like. When you purchase shares, you receive cash dividends for as long as you own them. You can also create "limit" and "stop" orders that will automatically buy or sell stocks at whatever price you set, so there is no fear of what will happen when you walk away from your keyboard.

How do Dividends work?

Every time a trade is made, 50% of the commission (from all parties involved in the trade) is put directly into the Stock's Dividend Game Pot. Example: You purchase 20 shares in RAMS at $5 each. The commission is $5.00 and 50% of that ($2.50) goes into the RAMS Dividend Game Pot. Each team's current Dividend Game Pot is displayed on their profile page.

What happens to Dividend Game Pots after a game?

When a listed sporting event, game, or matchup is over, the winning team takes part of the loser's Dividend Game Pot and adds it to their own. This is called a "Pot Plunder", or "Plundering" and usually takes place within an hour of the final whistle. The amount that is "plundered" varies from 20% to 50% of the loser's Dividend Pot. The percentage is based on the teams' League Rankings. If a better team in the League beats a worst team, they will plunder 20%. If the worst team in the League beats the best team, they will plunder 50%. Each team's current League Ranking can be found on their profile page. After the "plunder" is added to the winner's Game Pot, 25% of that sum is transferred to the winner's Season Pot and the other 75% is paid out to all current shareholders. This system rewards traders for recognizing the short-term potential of an underdog, or the long-term potential of a good team.

How often are Dividends paid?

For football and other sports where the teams only have one matchup per week, the dividends for the winning team are paid out within an hour of the game ending. (Right after the "Pot Plunder") For Leagues whose teams play multiple games per week (like baseball), then the "Pot Plunder" takes place after each game ends, but the dividends for all teams are paid out once per week, always on the same day. Thus, if your team(s) did well in a week's time, you will have a bigger dividend payout for that week.
Season Pots are paid out once per year, 30 days prior to the first game of the new season. 25% of the Season Pot is transferred to the Game Pot and the remaining 75% is paid out to all current shareholders.

Current Dividend Payout Schedule:

Football - After game end
Soccer - After game end
Baseball - Tuesday night
NBA Basketball - Wednesday night
NCAA Basketball - Thursday night
Hockey - Friday night
Other Sports - As needed

Note: Soccer dividends are only paid when both teams exist in the same division, both teams are listed on the ASM Exchange, and the game is part of regular competition.
NCAA dividends can be paid on games that include teams from different divisions, as well as games where one of the teams is not listed on the ASM Exchange.

What if only one team in a matchup is listed?

If the losing team is not listed on the ASM Exchange, then there is no "plunder" and the winner's dividend pot will be paid out.
If the winning team is not listed on the ASM Exchange, then the loser's pot will still be "plundered", and the money will be applied to contests and promotions.

What happens at the end of a League's season?

You do not need to sell your shares at the end of the season. During the playoffs, if a team is eliminated, it's entire Dividend Pot goes to the winning team. Thus the championship games can often bring about enormous dividend payouts. Trading continues in the off season as injuries, player trades, and management changes occur that will affect the next season, so the Dividend Pots will continue to grow, but they will not be paid out until the first game of the season. This will motivate some traders to hold onto their shares at the end of the season in order to reap the large dividend payouts during the first week of the new season.

What if my dividend payout is not equal to what I paid for the shares?

The dividend payouts are meant as a bonus to the shareholders. While at times they can be very large, they are not intended to take the place of the real profit potential of trading. Remember, not only can you make money from buying low and selling high, an aggressive trader can also "sell short", which means if you think a stock will drop in price, you can "sell it short" and profit largely when it's price falls. The fourth way to make money on AllSportsMarket.com is to become an affiliate and earn money for each person you refer. Good affiliates have the option of becoming an ASM broker, and earning commissions on every one of their trader's transactions. Click here for details.

How is this different than a sportsbook, or spread betting?

When you place a wager at a sportsbook, it is an all-or-nothing proposition. If you wager $500 for your team to win, and they don't, you lose the entire $500. If you take that $500 and purchase stock in the same team, and they lose, you still own the stock. The next time your team wins (they all win sooner or later), you will be entitled to the cash dividend from that win, and you can sell the stock at any time. It is impossible for a stock to lose it's entire value unless the team was removed from the League, which is theoretically possible, but extremely rare.

Do the shares ever split?

Yes. An issue becomes eligible for a split when it's average daily price is sustained at $50 or higher for a period of 30 days. When an issue splits, the price drops in half, and the number of shares that everyone holds will double. This is a positive thing for the shareholders, because it allows more shares to be purchased. At the same time a split occurs, additional shares may be floated to the market. A maximum of 10% of the total authorized shares may be added to the float when a split occurs, until all authorized shares have been issued.

Is my money safe?

AllSportsMarket acts as the trusted financial mechanism between traders. Your funds are held in an individual trust account and remain there until you request a withdrawal, or make a trade. When you execute a trade, ASM instantly transfers the money between the involved trader's accounts. Unlike sportsbooks, your deposited balance can never be used to fund another player's withdrawal, because funds only move between accounts when there is a transaction. This ensures that your balance is always available for withdrawal.

My computer makes a "clicking" noise while I'm logged in. How do I stop it?

This is a Windows setting. To disable, go to Start... Settings... Control Panel... Sounds... under Windows Explorer... "Complete Navigation", set it to "None".

How am I guarded against manipulation?

AllSportsMarket has implemented fraud algorithms, as well as a special team to monitor trading activity. Just as in the real stock exchanges, efforts are made to keep the market as fair as possible and to prevent cheating, however, ultimately each trader assumes their own risk. Players attempting manipulation can be issued warnings, imposed fines, and blacklisted from the exchange, depending on circumstances.

What hours is the market open?

AllSportsMarket operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

How realistic is this?

Realism is an important goal in the design and operation of AllSportsMarket. We offer multiple brokers, several ECNs for order routing, and all the professional-grade tools like real-time quotes, interactive charting and level II trading screens.

Can I use my own trading tools?

Yes, the AllSportsMarket SDK allows you to design your own research or trading exchange and interact with the system. We offer real-time streams of our data for your use with the SDK. You can also use tools built by other AllSportsMarket users and fans.

What is a "Dividend Pot"?

The total amount of funds available for distribution to the team's share holders.

How does the "Dividend Pot" fluctuate?

It goes up by the trading activity on that share. It goes down when the game is won and funds are distributed.

What is an "Order Streamer"?

This is a table that shows each successful trade made.

Does the "dividend pot" start anywhere or is it created by movement?

It's generated by trade activity.

If I trade a team before I collect my dividends, will I still collect?

You collect if you are holding the team when the match ends.

To withdraw money from my account, you require me to fax you information, what if I don't have a fax?
